individual counselling

As a Black queer social worker of Afro-Caribbean descent, I work using a strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens, with a deep commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice. Much of my experience has been working with BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, particularly navigating racial, institutional and relational trauma. But I have also worked with many other communities. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal themselves, and I am passionate about supporting that journey.

my approach:

Sometimes we go through things that feel heavy and overwhelm us, or sometimes we simply want a space to talk through big questions that we have about ourselves, our lives and those around us. With warmth and curiosity, I aim to co-create a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever you are going through.

I mostly rely on emotion-focused, compassionate, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. I am firmly rooted in abolitionist and liberation-based frameworks, and work from a place of deep love for my communities.
